Indore: The police claimed to have busted a cricket betting racket with the arrest of a bookie who allegedly accepted bets for a T-20 match played between Pakistan and Sri Lanka on Saturday.

Based on a tip-off, the police raided a flat at Katju Colony and arrested Ajay Faryani (34) while he was accepting bets for the Pakistan-Sri Lanka match last night, a police spokesperson said here today.

Police also seized Rs 90,000 in cash, an LED TV, a laptop computer as well as four cellular phones which were allegedly used by Faryani to run the illegal betting racket, the police spokesperson said.

It is suspected that the accused is linked to a big betting gang, and a hunt has been launched to round up two of Faryani's accomplices who are absconding, he said, adding that investigations are on.
