Three of the 15 terrorists, shifted from Kashmir to the Hazaribagh Central Jail in Ranchi, are Pakistani nationals while five are residents of the Pakistan occupied Kashmir. The three Pakistanis, Khalind Jarnaid of Sialkot, Meharban Shetty of Rawalpindi and Abdul Hyamallick of Punjab had links with the terrorist outfits in the PoK and were trained there to carry out subversive activities in India, official sources said. The sources said that one of the 15 terrorists, Mohammad Afjal was an accused in the Chatisinghpura massacre in Baramula district of Jammu Kashmir in 1995. He was also involved in the attack on a Border Security Force (BSF) camp also in Baramula district in 1994 in which five jawans were killed. Among the remaining terrorists, three were Afghans and had links with bin Laden's al-Qaeda, the sources said.
Meanwhile, jail authorities in Ranchi have sought detailed information regarding the terrorists from the union home ministry and have beefed up security in and around the central jail. Bureau Report
