New Delhi: The All India Football Federation will look into the grievance of the nine members of India`s 1956 Olympic team who have returned the Rs 25,000 grant given by the AIFF.
AIFF vice-president AR Khaleel said the federation had decided to send the cheques to the Olympians in recognition of the laurels they brought for the country and the emergency committee would have to look into the matter again.
"The emergency committee last month decided to give them the money as an honour for the laurel they brought to the country. Now they have returned back the cheques expressing disappointment so we will have to look it again," Khaleel told reporters."We have to look whether to increase the money or think for other options. We have also to take into account what the federation`s financial position permits," he added.
Khaleel, also Karnataka Football Association president, said since the federation is busy now with Nehru Cup, the matter can only be taken up once a new general secretary is appointed in place of incumbent Alberto Colaco.
