New Delhi: Premier League's big boys registered important victories in the gameweek 28 fixtures held across England on Wednesday. The night saw leaders Chelsea, second placed Manchester City and other big guns fighting for European places all shine on the night.

The fight for top four places was heightened as all teams with a possibility cashed on with victories and made sure there wasn't any slip.

Eden Hazard shined for Chelsea as they overcame a determined West Ham United 1-0 at Upton park to keep their lead safe. Manchester City rode it late against Leicester City at home after winning the tie 2-0. Third place Arsenal overcame QPR at Loftus Road to stay on third over fourth-placed Man United who got lucky with Ashley Young netting an important winner.

Liverpool and Tottenham won their respective matches against Burnley and Swansea to keep the pressure and stay on the hunt. Stoke City piled misery on Everton at the Britannia.

Wednesday also saw the reurn of Newcastle's Jonas Guttierez who made a reurn against Manchester United after a 18-month lay off through cancer. Meanwhile, Swansea City's Bafetimbi Gomis was also stretchered off after fainting on the pitch against Tottenham and is now fine after being taken to the hospital.
