New Delhi: Former Delhi state footballer Peter Gomes passed away on Friday following a sudden heart-attack at a city hospital.
Gomes was 60 and is survived by his wife and two unmarried sons.
He started his playing career as a forward in 1980 with Delhi's famous Buddisht Blue Stars Football club and later on switched to Shimla Youngs FC. He regularly participated in Delhi league and tournaments like DCM, Durand Cup among others.
Gomes represented Delhi state team in the Senior National Football Championship for Santosh Trophy in the 1990s.
AIFF vice-president and DSA president Subhash Chopra and his managing committee members expressed their condolences over Gomes demise, a release from Delhi Soccer Association said.
