Shillong: Lajong FC`s and Goa`s Churchill brothers will play in a `must win` match at Shillong on Tuesday to improve their position in the I-League table.
Close to having beaten at home by Mohun Bagan 3-2, Churchill could see themselves at number three in the table if they manage a win.
Currently at number 10 in the I-League table, a full three points for Lajong could see themselves as many as three places ahead.
Coaches of both teams are optimistic that Shillong`s cold weather should be able to give both teams a good show for the fans.
Churchill coach Manuel Gomez told PTI, "I look forward to a good football tomorrow. We consider it as another important match. Shillong has fans and the weather is good."
He is optimistic that Lajong could improve their standard of playing as well as they play for their fans.
At least 30,000 fans is expected at the J N Stadium here.
Lajong`s coach Pradyum Reddy said, "We have the crowd and we have turf and we need points. I look forward to my boys playing good football."
Reddy was optimistic that new signing, Renedy Sing could fill in the vacuum when Lajong will miss two of their key players in tomorrow`s match- John Menyongar and Lalramluaha.
Both were yellow-carded in the last match against Air India at Pune.
"You do not want to miss key players especially when you play a match at home but I hope new signings could play their part," Reddy said.
However, Reddy said, "We have just recovered from the fall out and the next step is to look for a win at home.”
Lajong has an "undefeated-at-home" record conceding only one goal in as many as six home matches played in Imphal and Guwahati.
