Panaji: A software engineer and his wife has
allegedly committed suicide at their residence here for living
"a very eventful and happy life together".
39-year-old Anand Ranthidevan and his 36-year-old wife Deepa were found hanging in their flat at Merces village on October 6, police said. But the police are left baffled with the suicide note written by couple.
According to police, the note said the couple is ending their lives as they "had enjoyed the life and did not want to live more". The couple had even kept aside Rs 10,000 for their cremation. However, the family members of the couple have expressed their unwillingness to take back their bodies, which are in highly decomposed state, police said.
Anand hailed from Chennai, while Deepa was from Bangalore.
Deepa`s family has given their written consent to police for cremating her, while Anand`s father will submit a similar letter in the next couple of days, a police official probing the case said.
"We will wait for the formal letter and later cremate the body as both the families have expressed their unwillingness to take back their bodies, which are in highly decomposed state," he said.
The bodies are kept in morgue of the Goa Medical College and Hospital.
The investigators said the couple had stayed in a five star hotel before shifting to their apartment which they had purchased recently.
