Madrid: Atletico Madrid's Colombian striker Jackson Martinez has said that anyone who is not privy to the 2013-14 La Liga champions' prowess is unaware of the entire world of football.
"Whoever does not know Atletico does not know football. It's a team that is already armed and has a game plan that has brought results," Efe quoted Martinez as saying on Tuesday.
The player's self-proclaimed "greatest motivation is to be here", adding that he is eager to give "all my services to the club and the fans".
Jackson, who has already spoken with his new Argentinian coach Diego Simeone, said: "I greeted him and it's the best feeling to start working with him."
He dodged comparing himself with his compatriot and former Atletico star Radamel Falcao, saying: "Falcao is Falcao, Jackson is Jackson. Everyone does his job and I came to try to do well.
"I think each of us in the club, if we are here it's because we can help it keep evolving. The most important thing is to start the season well and be able to do an excellent job," Jackson concluded.
