Webber says street circuits will favour Button

Sap-Francorchamps: Australian Mark Webber sees the streets of Singapore and Abu Dhabi as a serious obstacle to his Formula One title challenge.The Red Bull driver is third overall and 20.5 points adrift of Brawn GP`s Jenson Button with six races remaining, including Sunday`s Belgian Grand Prix, after failing to score in Valencia last weekend.

While Red Bull are expected to go well at Spa, Brawn have had the upper hand on street circuits and in hotter temperatures. Button, who won six of the opening seven races, was victorious in Australia and Monaco while team mate Rubens Barrichello, now second overall and 18 points off the lead, finished first in Valencia. "It`s certainly not impossible, but it`s going to be tough," Webber told reporters at Spa when asked about his title chances. "Looking at what happened in Valencia, we`ve got Singapore and Abu Dhabi as well." The night race in Singapore is on Sept. 27 while Abu Dhabi closes the season on Nov. 1. The Italian Grand Prix at Monza, the season`s fastest race, and the Japanese round at Suzuka should be more even while weather conditions at Interlagos in Brazil are always difficult to predict. Button has struggled to score big points since winning in Turkey in June, finishing seventh in his last two outings. The Briton is still looking comfortable however, knowing that time is running out for Red Bull as the season enters the decisive phase. Brawn are also 27.5 points ahead of their rivals in the constructors` standings. "It (the title) is their`s to lose, we know that," said Webber. "They are the hunted and we have more to gain than them. We need a phenomenal amount of points and a very consistent run, and then both Rubens and Jenson to have a rough run.” "It`s not impossible, but as we know things can change fast. There are a lot of points still to go." Webber, who started the year recovering from a broken leg suffered in a cycling accident in November, took his first win in Germany last month and had no complaints about his best season yet. "It`s something that I`m very happy about. A lot of people said to me when I broke my leg that you are going to come out of this stronger. Maybe I have," he said. "This year`s been sensational for me," added the driver who celebrated his 33rd birthday on Thursday. "Valencia was horrible but (to get) four podiums in a row and lots of points scoring finishes...there`s been so many positives for me." Bureau Report
