All-in-all, a brilliant day of kabaddi. Two debutant sides unsettled the league table with their respective commendable wins over established teams. In the first match, Gujarat Fortunegiants beat Dabang Delhi, then UP Yoddha humbled Telegu Titans.
22:15 PM IST: It was meant to a classic with the very expensive Nitin Tomar taking on legendary Rahul Chaudhari. Both the superstars started well, scoring raiding points, but as the match wore on, UP Yoddha's discipline proved the difference. A dream debut season for the UP franchise. A good win.
For Titans, a disappointing day. Third successive defeat. Their captain scored seven points, but the star of the day was UP's right corner Nitesh Kumar, who broke the morale of Titans raider. But, it was one raid from Surendra Singh.
Match 8 (Zone B): Telugu Titans vs UP Yoddha
22:06 PM IST: FULL-TIME— Telugu Titans 18 - 31 UP Yoddha
And in their final raid of the raid, just-arrived Rakshith lost the plot. One more point to the visitors.
Then, Rishank Devadiga killed the buzzer with the last raid of the match. UP Yoddha beat Telugu Titans by 13 points.
22:05 PM IST: SECOND-HALF— Telugu Titans 18 - 30 UP Yoddha
Despite all their good intentions, Rahul Chaudhari's Telugu Titans continued to play second fiddle to the debutants. Three more points to UP Yoddha, with a minute's play left.
22:03 PM IST: SECOND-HALF— Telugu Titans 18 - 27 UP Yoddha
What a start from the home side. Vishal Bharadwaj led the hunting pack to dismissed a Yoddha raider. Empty raid for Telugu Titans, then sub for the visitors, Mahesh Goud on for Rajesh Narwal.
Super tackle, that's how UP responded to break Mahesh Goud's raid.
21:59 PM IST: SECOND-HALF— Telugu Titans 17 - 25 UP Yoddha
Time-out taken by UP Yoddha. Despite leading, they have lost the momentum in the last couple of raiding exchanges. Less than five minutes left in the match. Still a seven-point cushion to the visitors.
21:57 PM IST: SECOND-HALF— Telugu Titans 17 - 25 UP Yoddha
Quick raids from either side. Rahul Chaudhari, then Rishank Devadiga. It was however followed by a brilliant raid by Chaudhari. The skipper scored another point to score three back-to-back points.
21:54 PM IST: SECOND-HALF— Telugu Titans 14 - 25 UP Yoddha
Rahul Chaudhari resumed the proceedings with another empty raid, but UP Yoddha raider Vishal Bharadwaj got a point. Then, Yoddha increased the lead another tackle point.
21:50 PM IST: SECOND-HALF— Telugu Titans 14 - 23 UP Yoddha
Nitin Tomar played safe, returned without testing the two Telegu players. Then, Rishank Devadiga got cautioned for talking while raiding. Yoddha's taken a complete control over the match, dismissed all Telegu Titan players for first all out. Time out called by the Titans.
21:47 PM IST: SECOND-HALF— Telugu Titans 13 - 18 UP Yoddha
Rakesh Kumar on a raid, but no success. Then, one huge raid for UP Yoddha. A super raid for Surendra Singh. Three points, to give his side a four-point lead.
Rahul Chaudhari responded with a successful raid, at least according to him. Referee's take is no. Challenged. No touch, and no bonus on do-or-die raid, said by the referee.
Replays showed Chaudhari's flailing leg was touching the ground when his attacking leg was going for the back line. And with that, the review was wasted.
21:42 PM IST: SECOND-HALF— Telugu Titans 13 - 14 UP Yoddha
What a raid from Rahul Chaudhari. The Titans skipper was lucky but his effort was commendable. His sliding attack returned with a point.
Back to back raids for Chaudhari. This time, returned empty handed.
21:40 PM IST: SECOND-HALF— Telugu Titans 12 - 13 UP Yoddha
UP Yoddha's Rajesh Narwal resumed the proceedings with a quiet raid. It was followed by a Jeeva Kumar special to oust Telegu Titans raider to increase the lead to two points.
However, a patient raid from Nilesh Salunke resulted in a point.
21:35 PM IST: HALF-TIME — Telugu Titans 11 - 12 UP Yoddha
Nitin Tomar's Up Yoddha managed to keep a slender lead going into the break at Hyderabad. On personal term, it's Telegu Titans captain Rahul Chaudhari who is leading the points board with four. Tomar has three.

21:33 PM IST: FIRST-HALF — Telugu Titans 10 - 12 UP Yoddha
One quiet period of play. Both the sides have failed to change the scoreline but, Indian legend Rakesh Kumar managed to outsmart a Yoddha player for a point.
21:31 PM IST: FIRST-HALF — Telugu Titans 9 - 11 UP Yoddha
Telugu Titans reduced the lead to a single point, thanks to a good defence. But Yoddha increased it to a couple thanks to their own good defensive work.
21:29 PM IST: FIRST-HALF — Telugu Titans 8 - 10 UP Yoddha
Nitin Tomar got his revenge. The UP Yoddha skipper wasted no second to block an escaping rival skipper Rahul Chaudhari. Good defence. It was followed by another successful raid.
21:26 PM IST: FIRST-HALF — Telugu Titans 8 - 8 UP Yoddha
Technical point to Titans for talking while raiding. It was bad display from Yoddha raider. Then, Rahul Chaudhari took a tumbling landing to escape Yoddha defenders. One point to the skipper. But Yoddha player have done enough to keep the scoreline at 8-8.
21:24 PM IST: FIRST-HALF — Telugu Titans 6 - 6 UP Yoddha
What a brilliant raid from Rahul Chaudhari. Yet another display of how the running hand touch should be employed. The point made it 6-6. Iranian Mohsen Maghsoudloujafari had his first raid but returned empty handed.
Rajesh Narwal, regarded as one of the best all-rounders, showed his experience. Happy with an empty raid.
21:21 PM IST: FIRST-HALF — Telugu Titans 4 - 6 UP Yoddha
Yodha defenders than took a calculated risk to out a Titan rider, thus making it 4-4. Rahul Chaudhari had a quiet raid. It was followed by a successful Rishank Devadiga raid. Titans then lost another player while in defence, to give Yodha three successive points.
21:17 PM IST: FIRST-HALF — Telugu Titans 4 - 3 UP Yoddha
Confident start for Titans, but UP's response has been brilliant so far. Then, Rahul Chaudhari showed his class by teasing UP defenders just outside the attacking line.
After a series of point exchanges, Titans took the lead thanks to a poor defensive play from UP.
21:10 PM IST: FIRST-HALF — Telugu Titans 1 - 1 UP Yoddha
Rahul Chaudhari won the toss and chose side. Nitin Tomar opened the scoring with a lucky raid. Chaudhari responded with a good raid, ousting Tomar.
21:05 PM IST: Tonight's second match will feature another debutant team, UP Yodha. Nitin Tomar's side will face the Rahul Chaudhari's Telugu Titans. It's big match for Telegu, after losing their two previous games. The visiting side has the costliest player in the league's history, in Nitin Tomar.
21:02 PM IST: Skipper Sukesh Hegde led from the front as new boys from Gujarat rode on their brilliant start to beat a strong Delhi outfit 26-20. Delhi R Sriram was brilliant in his limited role, to return as leading raider with five points, while the best defender was Fazel Atrachali with four points. His combination with fellow Iranian Abozar Mohajermighani was a treat.
SECOND-HALF: Gujarat Fortunegiants 26 - 20 Dabang Delhi KC
20:59 PM IST: Mind games on at Hyderabad. With a minute's play left in the match, Delhi going for an all out attack, while Gujarat trying see off...
Sriram returned empty handed, then came Gujarat skipper Sukesh Hegde killing the time.
Thus Gujarat took PKL bow with a win. A deserving one.
20:55 PM IST: In the dying minutes, Delhi challenged a raid point given to Gujarat. Delhi lost their review too. Then, a good defensive play meant that Delhi managed to all out Gujarat.
Then, Sriram returned with another raid point.
20:52 PM IST: Gujarat challenged a bonus point in Delhi's do-or-die raid, claiming Delhi's raider's foot was not on the line. And Gujarat lost the review. No review left.
20:50 PM IST: R Sriram did well to complete a running hand raid. Two more points to Delhi. Sukesh Hegde failed to do anything magical in his raid, then Hedge lost his footing while defending. Another point to Delhi. Sriram has been effective in his short, quick raids.
20:46 PM IST: Delhi continued to fight back. This time, they pushed outside a Gujarat raider to make it 13-26 with less than five minutes left in the match.
Gujarat raider Sukesh Hegde returned empty handed, and time-out called by Delhi camp.
20:44 PM IST: Another good raid from Gujarat. Substitute raider Rohit Gulia returned with a point. Delhi, in response, opted for a safe raid, which was followed by another safe raid from Gujarat.
In their do-or-die, Delhi managed to win points after Iranian players Fazel Atrachali and Abozar Mohajermighani committed a mistake.
20:38 PM IST: Rakesh Narwal continued his impressive raids. He raided deep inside the Delhi camp, and returned with a point. In response, what Delhi did was losing Shinde.
Delhi All Out for the second time in the match.
20:32 PM IST: Gujarat on a roll. Sachin utilised his long hands to touch a Delhi player on a running raid. The raider, despite running off to the lobby, safely returned home.
Then, Delhi lost Sunil on the raid.
20:34 PM IST: Tall Sukesh Hegde took full advantage of his reach. What he needed was just a simple fall, and his outreaching hands reach the line. Good raid for Gujarat.
Delhi responded well to take two more points. But Gujarat produced a brilliant defence, with Iranian Fazel Atrachali showing his iron grip.
20:30 PM IST: Gujarat's Rakesh Narwal started off with a tidy raid, third point for him today. And Delhi managed to exploit one defensive line to reduce the gap to 10 again.
Match 7 (Zone A): Gujarat Fortunegiants 15 - 5 Dabang Delhi KC
HALF-TIME
20:23 PM IST: Rakesh Narwal again, raiding with conviction. He ever produced a scorpion kick but was not enough. Nilesh Shinde, pushed to the limit, was lined out and one two points to Gujarat, including a technical point.
Then, within seconds, Delhi lost all their men. 15-5 to Gujarat.
At half-time, Gujarat take a 10-point lead.
20:20 PM IST: Rakesh Narwal was brilliant in the raid to get a point. Good running attack. Delhi, in response, made a small raid. Rakesh followed it up with another probing raid, but this time he returned empty handed. Gujarat still lead 8-5 with little less than three minutes left in the half.
20:18 PM IST: Abol Fazel returned empty handed, then, Delhi lost a man while trying to block a Gujarat raider. It was followed by a bad raid from Abozar Mohajermighani. the Iranian showed little resistance to Gujarat raiders. 7-4 in favour of Gujarat.
20:15 PM IST: Delhi managed to win a point, thanks to a brilliant team work. Gujarat raider Rakesh Narwal had no clue. In their do-or-die raid, Delhi won another point to reduce the gap to one point. 5-4 in favour of Gujarat. And we have less than eight minutes left in the first half.
20:12 PM IST: Sachin wasted another raid. He has been undone by Sunil's brilliant body block. But, Delhi's joy lasted only a second as Sheykh was once again failed to make the most out of his raid. 5-2 in favour of Gujarat.
20:10 PM IST: Delhi players did well to block Fortunegiants player in the latter's do-or-die raid. But the debutants responded with a brilliant defence in Delhi's raid. 4-1 in favour of Gujarat.
20:07 PM IST: Gujarat consolidated their lead with two more points thanks to a successful raid from Sachin. Delhi, then wasted their own raid. And in the first 15 minutes, Delhi have lost as many as three players including skipper Sheykh.
20:05 PM IST: First points to Gujarat Fortunegiants. They managed to catch Delhi skipper Meraj Sheykh, who looked overconfident in his raid.
19:55 PM IST: Both the teams are already on the mat for this Zone A match in Hyderabad. Delhi have won the only game they have played so far, but this will be the first match for debutants Fortunegiants. Delhi beat Jaipur in their first match.
