59th National Amateur body-building championship in Thane

Thane: The 59th National Amateur body-building championship will be organised on January 22-23 at Kalwa-Kharigon, it was announced.

Addressing a news conference here Kamlakar Patil, President, Apollo Gym, told news men that this was the first time a national event in Body Building was being held in Thane.

The events are being held under the auspicious of Bharatiya Fitness, Body Building Federation and the Maharashtra State Amateur Body-Building Association, he said.

The event will witness a competition for titles like Bharat Uday (new); Bharat Kishore (upto 21 yrs); Bharat Kumar (upto 25 yrs); Bharat Shriman ( Above 40 and 50); Western Bharat Shree (centers in Western India) and Bharat Shri (All-India).

Patil said that more than 400 contestants drawn from different states including Maharashtra, Goa, Gujarat, Vidharba, Madhya Pradesh, Chattishgarh, Rajastan, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Orissa, Jammu-Kashmir, Assam, Punjab, West Bengal, AndhraPradesh, Bihar and All India Electricity Board will participate in the event.
