Chennai, Aug 14: Akshay Deepak remained the lone Indian contender after seven other home favourites bowed out after the first round of qualifying at the 5th ICL PSA Circuit-2 Squash Championships here yesterday.
Deepak scored a 9-11 11-7 12-10 11-7 victory in just 28 minutes against Iranian Masoud Gharehzyadini in the first round.
Paramit Singh, Ravi Dixit, Ramit Tandon, Shakti Singh, B.Balamurugan, Hari Om Tripati and Karan Malik were the Indians who were shown the exit.
