Boxer Rakesh Kumar arrested for drugs possession

New Delhi: Indian boxer Rakesh Kumar has been arrested on Thursday for possession of drugs worth Rs 3 crore.

The international boxer who hails from Hoshiyarpur, Punjab, represents India in the Light Welterweight category. The arrest serves as a big blow for him and his dreams if the charges are proved of him being guilty.

Rakesh Kumar who represented India in the 69kg category had struck gold as the team was crowned champions for the first time in the 22nd President's Cup Boxing Tournament in Palembang, Indonesia in April 2015.
