New Delhi: BJP on Wednesday accused the Delhi
government of making fraudulent statements and false promises
to misguide the people ahead of elections to the Municipal
Corporation of Delhi.
Criticising the recent announcements like setting up of a Technical University for Women and constructing a mono-rail system, Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly V K Malhotra claimed that these promises had been made earlier as well.
"As soon as the elections are declared, Delhi government opens its Pandora`s box of fraudulent statements and false promises to misguide the people of Delhi," Malhotra said. "Is the mono-rail project a new project; is the proposal to take Metro to Bawana a new one? All this was repeatedly promised," he said.
During the last Assembly polls, he claimed many promises were made like 24 hours supply of water and electricity, regularisation of 1,639 unauthorised colonies and providing pucca houses to the poor and slum dwellers but were not fulfilled. PTI
