Rio De Janeiro: Indian shuttlers Kidambi Srikanth and PV Sindhu won their respective matches on Day 10 of Rio Olympics 2016 to advance into the quarter-finals.

Srikanth, who was up against world No. 5 Jan Jorgensen of Denmark, registered a 21-19, 21-19 win in a tight 42-minute contest to keep the medal hopes alive.

The 11th-ranked Indian showcased incredible defensive skills throughout the match.

Sindhu too dominated throughout her match against Chinese Taipei's Tai Tzu-ying, a match she won in straight games 21-13, 21-15 and booked her spot in the quarter-finals of the women's singles badminton event.

However, Vikas Krishan's campaign came to an end as he lost to his formidable opponent.

The Indian boxer was up against Uzbekistan pugilist Bektemir Melikuziev in the quarter-final bout of the men's middleweight (75kg) category.

Vikas proved to be a no show and lost the match 0-3.

Vikas was the last boxer to be knocked out of the mega event after Manoj Kumar and Shiva Thapa.
