Dubai: Aiming to bring on a common platform the large number of Indians working in Saudi Arabia, a group of Indian professionals has launched its chapters in different Saudi cities where Indian expatriates are employed.

The Indian Engineers Forum (IEF) recently launched its chapter in Yanbu city in the presence of its founder, Riyadh-based Amir Khan who has taken a lead in expanding the group through various chapters in the country.
The group is engaged in collaboration and cooperation with the Saudi Council of Engineers in the joint pursuit of professional growth. Its Dammam chapter was inaugurated earlier. "Engineers from India contribute significantly to the development of Saudi Arabia. And since this has been acknowledged by many high-ranking Saudis, we need to capitalise on this good will," Khan told Arab News.
Tasneem Akhtar, the IEF coordinator for Yanbu chapter, said he was confident that the Yanbu chapter would help raise the profile of Indian engineers in the city.
According to him, more than 500 Indian engineers are engaged in various projects in Yanbu. The IEF`s quest is to promote greater interaction among Indian engineers.
Many senior Indian expatriates took part at the Yanbu chapter launch.
