Vishnu, Yuki and Virali-Murugesan move to ITF quarters

Top seed Vishnu beat compatriot Vijayant Malik 6-4, 6-2 and would next face seventh seed Dutch Peter Lucassen, who spanked Johny Arcilla of the Philippines 6-0, 6-2 in another match at the DLTA complex today. Yuki also did not have to break sweat as he won the first set 6-2 and was leading 1-0 when his American opponent Shane La Porte retired midway after citing illness in the second round. In the final eight, Yuki will lock horns with fifth seed British Chris Eaton, who thrashed compatriot Kyle Brassington 6-2, 6-2. However, the most gruelling match was for Virali-Murugesan. The Indian survived a scare before edging past Korean qualifier Seung-Jae Lee 6-3, 4-6, 7-6 (8) to set up a clash with another Korean Kim Young-Jun, seeded third, in the next round. In another quarterfinal, Australian K Balakrishnan will take on Korean Jae-Won Choi. Balakrishnan beat Indian Vivek Shokeen 6-3, 6-3 while Choi pipped sixth seeded Rohan Gajjar 6-3, 2-6, 6-4.
