Delhi-NCR weather update: Rain lashed parts of the national capital on Friday evening. This came after Thursday turned out to be the hottest day of the season so far in Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR). The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted that the city is likely to witness thunderstorms accompanied by rain.

Delhi witnessed a record-breaking temperature drop this Wednesday, marking the coldest April day in over a decade. While Western Disturbances brought rain and "Satisfactory" air quality, the IMD warns of a 10°C heat spike starting Thursday.

Low-lying regions across the city are among the worst hit. Floodwaters have inundated homes, markets, and major arterial roads, forcing residents to abandon belongings and seek refuge in temporary shelters. Waterlogging has rendered key stretches impassable, leading to significant traffic delays.

Incessant monsoon rains have caused a massive traffic jam and disrupted Delhi Metro's Yellow Line, bringing Delhi-NCR to a standstill.
