Messi Kolkata Event Chaos: Biswas on Tuesday submitted his resignation, taking moral responsibility for the lapses in management in the event featuring Argentine football star Lionel Messi. The Kolkata event of the football legend witnessed chaos, with allegations of poor crowd control, damage to public property, and a lack of proper arrangements.

Messi reached Hyderabad on Saturday and also made an appearance at the Rajiv Gandhi International stadium in Uppal. It was apparent that the organisers of Messi's India GOAT Tour are trying to project that there was no issue with the tour.

As anger continues to simmer in Kolkata, the All India Football Federation (AIFF) clarified on Saturday that the Lionel Messi event at Salt Lake Stadium was privately organised by a PR agency, and the federation had no role in the planning or execution of the programme.

Addressing a press briefing, West Bengal Director General Of Police (DGP) Rajeev Kumar said that the organisers had provided a written undertaking to refund the ticket amount. As per media reports, ticket prices ranged between Rs 4,000 and Rs 25,000.

As Messi attempted a lap around the ground, heavy security cordons and a large entourage made it nearly impossible for most fans. After the Kolkata leg, Messi was scheduled to fly to Hyderabad for the evening segment of the tour.
