New Delhi: Delhi Police Commissioner Neeraj Kumar has informed the media that he will file the chargesheet against underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, the mastermind behind IPL-spot-fixing saga. “I will file the chargesheet against Dawood before I leave,” said Kumar, who will retire on July 31. Meanwhile, Delhi police on Monday opposed the bail plea of a bookie in IPL spot-fixing scandal, telling a court here that a CFSL report on call intercepts will be filed to prove that the accused were directly or indirectly acting at the behest of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim. Senior Public Prosecutor Rajiv Mohan informed Additional Sessions Judge Renu Bhatnagar that in a day or two, Delhi Police Special Cell will file the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) report related to calls made by cricketers and bookies with alleged links to underworld. Mohan alleged that bookie Jitender Kumar Jain was the chief financer for Ahmedabad, a Gujarat-based syndicate involved in spot and session fixing in the IPL. He told the court that once the CFSL report is submitted, it can decide the bail pleas pending before it. Earlier the name that was coming behind the entire scandal was of Sunil Ramchandani alias Sunil Dubai, a close aid of Dawood. In the IPL spot-fixing and betting case, the Delhi Police played out telephonic conversations between underworld don Dawood Ibrahim and an alleged bookie involved in the scandal. The police claimed that the tapes, played out as evidence mainly against Rajasthan Royals player Ajit Chandila, feature calls between Dawood Ibrahim and Javed Chotani - allegedly the key link between Dawood and Indian bookies - on March 26 this year. They discuss money and an unnamed minister. Chandila is one of the three Rajasthan Royals cricketers arrested by the Delhi Police in May this year on charges of spot-fixing. The other two – S Sreesanth and Ankeet Chavanl. While Chandila is in custody, the other two players, S Sreesanth and Ankit Chavan, were granted bail on June 10 along with 18 bookies, due to lack of evidence under MCOCA.
