Policeman injured in clash between TMC, BJP supporters

A police constable was injured and around 8 houses ransacked in a clash between TMC and BJP supporters at Parui area of Birbhum district here, police said on Saturday.

Suri: A police constable was injured and around 8 houses ransacked in a clash between TMC and BJP supporters at Parui area of Birbhum district here, police said on Saturday.

Constable Abdul Qasim who was posted at police camp in Beluti-Palsa village suffered bomb splinter injury when the security forces had gone to control the turf war between supporters of two rival political parties at Beluti-Palsa village of Birbhum district here today, police said.

Around eight houses were also ransacked during the clash, they said.

The situation was controlled after a large police force from Bolpur rushed to the village, police said.

BJP Birbhum district president Dudh Kumar Mondal alleged that Trinamool Congress activists attacked the people of Beluti-Palsa village as the residents had turned BJP supporters.
