1. Not Wearing Seat Belts

Not wearing a seat belt while driving can result in a fine of Rs 1,000. It is recommended to wear a seat belt.

2. Using Mobile Phones

Using a mobile phone while driving is a major distraction and is penalised with a fine of Rs 5,000 for the first offence and Rs 10,000 for subsequent offences.

3. Over-Speeding

The fine for over-speeding a car is Rs 1,000. Repeated offences can lead to higher fines and even suspension of your driving licence.

4. Drink And Drive

Rs 10,000 and/or 6 months imprisonment is the penalty for a first-time drink and drive offence and Rs 15,000 and/or 2 years imprisonment for a repeated offence.

5. Driving Without Licence

Driving without a valid licence is penalised with a fine of Rs 5,000. You must carry your licence while driving.

6. Driving Without RC

Driving a vehicle without a valid registration certificate can result in a fine of Rs 5,000 for the first offence and Rs 10,000 for subsequent offences.

7. Driving Without PUC Certificate

Driving without a valid PUC certificate can attract a fine of Rs 10,000.
