Maruti Suzuki

Maruti Suzuki dominates the Indian car market, in almost every segment, barring electric space. However, not all cars from Maruti have been successful.

Big Flops

There have been big flops as well. Some were variants, others were independent models. Let's take a look at the top 5 flops from Maruti.

Zen Classic

The Maruti Zen was a hit in the 90’s. Later, Maruti introduced a new variant of the Zen called the Zen Classic, which did not go down well with buyers.

Maruti Versa

It came with a 1.3-litre engine, shared with Esteem, it was the high price point that acted as a deterrent to this spacious van.

Maruti Zen Estilo

It was launched in 2006. This car had nothing in common with the Zen. It could never make an impact like other Maruti cars and was put to rest in 2014.

Suzuki Kizashi

This premium sedan was launched in 2011. Being a CBU, it attracted a heavy import duty and was priced around Rs. 16 lakhs, which was considered expensive.

Maruti Baleno Altura

Station wagons never really caught on in India, especially overpriced ones like the Baleno Altura. It was flop too.
