This is a new rule. A fielder cannot act as if he or she is collecting the ball and throwing it at stumps to confuse the batter. If caught fake fielding, the fielding team is penalised 5 runs.
Under the Law 31.8 of the Laws of Cricket, fielding captain is allowed to withdraw an appeal even after umpire has made the decision to dismiss batter.
Do you know that even if it is out, the batter cannot be given out by the umpire untill unless an appeal is made by bowling team.
If a fielder is caught kicking the ball over the boundary intentionally, 5 penalty runs are awarded to batting team.
As per Law 34 in MCC rulebook, a batter is considered out if he or she strikes the ball the second time before it has reached any fielder.
