Netherlands beat South Africa in 2023

The Dutch caused out of the biggest upsets in ODI World Cup history, defeating South Africa by 38 runs in ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 match in Dharamsala. Chasing Netherlands total of 246 to win, SA were bundled out for just 207. (Photo: AP)

Afghanistan beat England in 2023

The Afghans posted just their second win in ODI World Cup history, defeating defending World Champions by 69 runs in Delhi in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 last week. Chasing 285 to win, England were rolled over with Mujeeb Ur Rahman claiming 3 wickets. (Photo: AP)

Bangladesh beat India in 2007

India posted only 192 runs in Trinidad after batting first with Sourav Ganguly scoring 66. Fifties to Tamim Iqbal and Shahriar Nafees boosted Bangladesh’s chances, while an impressive Shakib Al Hasan helped guide them home.

Zimbabwe beat India in 1999

Zimbabwe had posted 252 runs after batting first in Bristol. India needed only seven runs with three wickets and plenty of deliveries in hand, until Zimbabwe quick Henry Olonga struck to claim all the remaining scalps in the one over.

Ireland beat England in 2011

England in command with a total of 327. The target looked well out of reach for Ireland when they slumped to 111/5 but an incredible innings from Kevin O'Brien, who smashed 113 runs from 63 balls to lead Ireland toward a three-wicket win.

Kenya beat West Indies in 1996

Kenya were bowled out for 166 but the ending was still to be written. The West Indies innings never got going as several batters made starts but they could only put together a highest partnership of 20 runs while eventually being all out for a paltry 93.
