Babur (1526- 1530 AD)

He was the man who established the Mughal Empire. He was the first to introduce gun powder to India.

Humayun (1526- 1556 AD)

He was the one who established Dinpanah as the second capital in Delhi. He fought with Sher Shah Suri in two battles: the Battle of Chausa and the Battle of Kannauj.

Akbar (1566- 1565 AD)

To organize the nobility and army, he devised the Mansabdari System (Holder of rank). He also built the Buland Darwaza.

Jahangir (1605-1627 AD)

He assassinated Guru Arjun Dev, the fifth Guru of the Sikhs. He also founded Zanjir-i-Adal at Agra Fort for those seeking royal justice.

Shahjahan (1628-1658 AD)

He constructed the Taj Mahal in Agra, as well as the Jama Masjid and Red Fort in Delhi. He annexed Ahmadnagar and recognized his rule in Bijapur and Golconda.

Aurangzeb (1658-1707 AD)

In 1675 AD, he executed Guru Tegh Bhadur, the ninth Sikh Guru. He built Biwi ka Makbara at Aurangabad on the tomb of his queen Rabaud-Durani.

Bahadur Shah I (1707-1712 AD)

After murdering his two brothers and defeating Kam Baksh in the Battle of Jajau, he ascended to the throne in 1707. He was the last Mughal who wielded absolute power.

Akbar II (1806- 1837 AD)

He was the first Mughal king to be protected by the British. During his reign, the Mughal Empire is reduced to merely the Red Fort.
