Bihar with 61.8 per cent has the lowest literacy rate in India, according to Ministry of Education.
Bihar is followed by Arunachal Pradesh (65.3%) and Rajasthan (66.1%).
Kerala has the highest literacy rate at 94 per cent.
Kerala is followed by Lakshadweep (91.85%) and Mizoram (91.33%).
Currently, the literacy rate in rural India is 67.77 per cent.
The literacy rate in urban India is 84.11 per cent.
