Akshay Kumar was born on 9th September 1967 in Amritsar to Aruna Bhatia and Hari Om Bhatia.
He married Twinkle Khanna, daughter of Rajesh Khanna in 2001 and they have 2 kids Aarav and Nitara.
He was born as Rajiv Hari Om Bhatia but changed his name to Akshay because his name in his first movie was Akshay and he liked it.
Akshay Kumar was born in Amritsar, but he changed his citizenship to Canadian as his films weren’t working at that time and his friend offered him to do business with him. But he has renounced his Canadian citizenship in 2022 and has accepted his Indian citizenship back.
Akshay Kumar went to Bangkok after finishing his 12th and worked there as a Chef and Waiter. He also learned martial arts there. He also started taking Martial Arts classes when he came back to India.
He made his Debut when his first Film “Saugandh” was released in 1991. He has also done many superhit movies such as Hera Pheri, OMG, De Dana Dan etc. He has been working in the industry for 30 years and has done over 150 Films.
He has won Padma Shri, Highest Civilian Award in the year 2009. He also won The Asian Award in 2011. He won National Film Award for movie Rustom and Padman in 2017 and 2019.
