Ali (2001)

Directed by Michael Mann, the film is on ten years in the life of the boxer Muhammad Ali, from 1964 to 1974, featuring his capture of the heavyweight title from Sonny Liston, his conversion to Islam, and criticism of the Vietnam War.

Raging Bull (1980)

An adaptation of former middleweight boxing champion Jake LaMotta's 1970 memoir Raging Bull: My Story. It follows the career of LaMotta, his rise and fall in the boxing scene.

Miracle (2004)

A former player turned coach, Herb Brooks guides the USA Olympic hockey team to victory in 1980 against the allegedly unbeatable Russian team.

Race (2016)

A Stephen Hopkins film about African-American athlete Jesse Owens, who won a record-breaking four gold medals at the 1936 Berlin Olympic Games.

Remember the Titans (2000)

Loosely based on the true story of coach Herman Boone, and his attempt to integrate the T. C. Williams High School football team in Alexandria, Virginia, in 1971.

Rudy (1993)

The story is based on the life of Daniel "Rudy" Ruettiger, who harbored dreams of playing football at the University of Notre Dame despite significant obstacles.

Eight Men Out (1988)

Based on Eliot Asinof's 1963 book Eight Men Out: The Black Sox and the 1919 World Series. The Chicago White Sox purposefully dropped a World Series game. Arnold Rothstein uses the disagreement to his advantage.
