Pankaj Tripathi was born on 5th September 1976 as Pankaj Tiwari in Belsand, Gopalganj District, Bihar.
He was born to Pandit Benares Tripathi and Hemwanti Devi. He has 2 brothers and 2 sisters and is the youngest of them all. He married Mridula in 2004 and has a daughter.
He used to help his father in the Fields until Standard 11. He also used to take part in “Natak’s” in the village which initiated his interest in Acting.
His father wanted him to become a doctor, so he arrived in Patna. He was very active in college politics which landed him in jail for 7 days.
He used to take 3 A.M. Train every month from his village to Patna to learn and watch Theatre. He joined the Bihar Art Theatre.
Pankaj Tripathi’s Debut film was Run and was not given any credit for his role. He also did many superhit films and series like Mimi, Gangs of Wasseypur, Mirzapur, Ludo etc.
He won a National award for the movie “Mimi” and Indian Television Academy Award for the movie “Ludo”. He also got a special mention at the National Awards for his role in “Newton” movie.
