'Jawan' To 'Joram' - Films That Ruled Big Screens In 2023

1. Animal

One of the biggest blockbusters of 2023 was Sandeep Reddy Vanga's Animal produced by Bhushan Kumar's T-Series. The Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol, and Anil Kapoor starrer left the audiences mesmerized with its performances and grandeur.

2. Adipurush

One of the grandest films of 2023 was Om Raut's period drama Adipurush. The film starred Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, Saif Ali Khan, and Sunny Singh in major roles, and it left many jaws dropped for the grand scale it was made.

3. Sukhee

Another slice-of-life, empowering tale about self-love was Shilpa Shetty Kundra and Amit Sadh's film Sukhee. Directed by Sonal Joshi the film pulled many heartstrings with its relatable plot.

4. Zwigato

The Nandita Das directorial starring Kapil Sharma and Shahana Goswami was an emotional slice-of-life film that is sure to leave you with tears and certainly a conversation starter.

5. Farrey

Another strong story that emerged as a winner this year, was Farrey. Directed by Soumendra Padhi and produced by Atul Agnihotri, the film starred newcomers Alizeh, Zeyn Shaw, Prasanna Bisht, and Sahil Mehta in a very hard-hitting, complex, but gripping story.

6. Joram

Manoj Bajpayee's survival drama Joram produced by Zee Studios and MakhijaFilms and starring Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub and Smita Tambe gave goosebumps to the viewers for its gritty and intense storyline and stellar performances.

7. Yaariyan 2

Directed by Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, and starring Divya Khosla Kumar, Pearl V Puri, and Meezaan Jafri, Yaariyan 2 brought a very modern-day concept to the 70mm. Exploring a thick sibling bond between cousins, the film received immense love.

8. Dono

Another sweet yet modern love story was Avnish. S. Barjatya's film Dono. Starring debutants Rajveer Deol and Paloma, this love story dealt with some important relationship concepts and was much appreciated.

9. Dasara

Dasara which starred Nani and Keerthy Suresh was dripping with action-packed sequences and a solid adrenaline rush with a gripping story that caught attention.

10. Jawan

SRK plays the double role of father and son, another masala trope we would know in our sleep. Jawan is the old-school hero made new, and SRK takes the character and runs with it. And he, clap, clap, gets a posse of women to help him reach his target.
