1. Maintain Proper Hygiene

Wash your hands frequently with soap and water to avoid spreading the infection. Avoid touching your eyes with dirty hands.

2. Avoid Rubbing Your Eyes

Even though it may be tempting, rubbing your eyes can worsen the condition and spread the infection.

3. Warm Compress For Eye

Apply a clean, warm compress to your eyes for a few minutes several times a day to minimise discomfort.

4. Avoid Eye Makeup

Avoid using eye makeup, as it can aggravate the condition and delay healing.

5. Use Artificial Tears

Applying over-the-counter artificial tears helps relieve dryness and discomfort associated with conjunctivitis

6. Use Clean Beds & Towels

Change your bedding and towels frequently to avoid the build-up of bacteria

7. Avoid Sharing Personal Stuff

Do not share towels, handkerchiefs, or any personal items that come into contact with your eyes. This reduces the chances of spreading the infection.

8. Use Prescribed Eye Drops

If the conjunctivitis is severe, always use the prescribed medicine or eye drop.

9. Avoid Swimming

Avoid swimming during the monsoon season, as it tends to harbour bacteria and other microorganisms that can worsen eye problems

10. Consult A Doctor

If your symptoms worsen or persist despite home remedies, consult an eye specialist for a proper diagnosis.
