The whole Bengali song was translated into English by Tagore, who gave it the title "The Morning Song of India."
The initial version was written in Bengali and comprises five stanzas. The text was initially published in Tatwabodhini Patrika in 1905.
Only the beginning and final lines of the anthem are performed as a shortened version on certain special occasions.
Rabindranath is credited with writing the slow, raga Alhaiya Bilawal-based melody for the entire song.
Due to its legitimacy, the National Congress decided to adopt it as the national anthem on December 27, 1911.
Only the first stanza of the five stanzas is often recited and sung by Indians.
Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose deserves all the credit for choosing India's national anthem because he was a significant member of the committee that chose it.
