1. Kurukshetra

This site, which is in Ambala, is where the epic Mahabharata war took place. There is a pond called Brahma Sarovar, where believers congregate to partake in a sacred bath during the solar eclipse.

2. Hastinapur

Situated in Meerut, Hastinapur used to be the Kuru clan's capital city. It is now one of India's most important pilgrimage destinations.

3. Indraprastha

Indraprastha, which is in New Delhi, was formerly the Pandavas' capital city. It is believed that the Purana Qila currently exists precisely where the land of Indraprastha formerly stood.

4. Vrindavan

Located in Uttar Pradesh, Vrindavan is an important pilgrimage spot for Lord Krishna devotees. According to the scriptures, this is the place where Lord Krishna spent most of his childhood days.

5. Dwarka

It is located on Gujarat's western coast. Lord Krishna had shifted his capital to Dwarka from Mathura to protect the Yadavas. Dwarka has the Dwarkadhish Temple dedicated to Lord Krishna.

6. Gokul

Gokul is a town in Uttar Pradesh. The Bhāgavata Purāṇa says that Lord Krishna performed most of his childhood līlā in Gokul.

7. Magadh

What is now the present-day South Bihar was called Magadh during the Mahabharata. Jarasandh, the ruler of Magadh, had daughters who were married to Kans, who was killed by Lord Krishna.

8. Barsana

Barsana is a historical town in Uttar Pradesh that holds cultural and religious significance as the birthplace of the Hindu goddess Radha. The main attraction of Barsana is the Radha Rani Temple.

9. Bhishma Kund

It is said that Pitamaha Bhishma lay watching the historic Mahabharata War at Bhishma Kund after Arjun made him an arrow bed. Situated in Haryana, the place now has a temple next to a water tank called the Bhishma Kund.

10. Bhimbetka

Situated in Madhya Pradesh, Bhimbetka is called "Bhima's resting place". According to the native belief, Bhima, one of the five Pandavas, used to rest here to interact with the locals during his exile.
