26 Opposition parties met in Bengaluru

Top leaders from 26 Opposition parties met in Bengaluru to discuss a strategy to take on the Narendra Modi-led NDA in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

Congress

Top Congress leaders including Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi attended the two-day meeting.

NC and PDP

From Jammu and Kashmir, National Conference (NC) chief Farooq Abdullah's son Omar Abdullah and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president Mehbooba Mufti attended the key meet.

SP and RLD

Former Uttar Pradesh CM and Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav, and Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) president Jayant Chaudhary attended the meeting.

JD(U) and RJD

Bihar CM and Janata Dal (United) leader Nitish Kumar, besides Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad and his son Tejashwi Yadav also took part in the meeting.

JMM

Jharkhand CM, who heads the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), also attended the Opposition meeting in Bengaluru.

TMC

West Bengal CM and Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee also attended the crucial meeting.

NCP and Shiv Sena (UBT)

From Maharashtra, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar and Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Uddhav Thackeray attended the meet.

DMK

Tamil Nadu CM and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) President MK Stalin also participated in the meeting.

Communist parties

CPI-M's Sitaram Yechury, CPI's D Raja, and Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) MP Vaiko also attended the Bengaluru meeting.

RSP, KMDK, other regional parties

Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP), Kongunadu Makkal Desia Katchi (KMDK), Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK), CPI-ML, Forward Bloc, Indian Union Muslim League (IUML), Kerala Congress (Joseph) and the Kerala Congress (Mani), besides the Apna Dal (Kamerawadi) and Tamil Nadu's Manithaneya Makkal Katchi (MMK) also attended the Opposition meeting.
