President Droupadi Murmu on Sunday appointed six new faces as governors and carried out a rejig of the gubernatorial posts in seven states.
President has appointed Lt Gen Kaiwalya Trivikram Parnaik (retd) as governor of Arunachal Pradesh. Parnaik served as commander of the Army's Northern Command.
CP Radhakrishnan has been appointed the Governor of Jharkhand. He is a two-time Lok Sabha member of the BJP from Coimbatore. He was the man behind forging the BJP-led NDA alliance in 1999.
Lakshman Prasad Acharya has been appointed the new Governor of Sikkim. Acharya was a BJP member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council.
Shiv Pratap Shukla has been appointed the new Himachal Pradesh Governor. Former minister of state for finance, Shukla was BJP's candidate in Rajya Sabha and retired in 2022.
Gulab Chand Kataria has been appointed as the governor of Assam. Kataria was the sitting Leader of Opposition in Rajasthan Assembly. He had also served as the home minister in the previous Vasundhara Raje government.

President Murmu has also appointed Brig BD Mishra (retd) as Governor of Arunachal Pradesh.
