5 Simple Steps To Make Raksha Bandhan Special Ghewar

Ingredients:

1 ½ cup all purpose flour, 2 pieces of ice cubes, ¼ cup milk, ½ cup ghee, ½ cup ghee, 2 ½ cup water, 1/8 teaspoon edible food colour and 1 cup sugar.

Toppings:

½ teaspoon powdered green cardamom, ½ Tbs chopped almonds, Saffron and 6 inches silver vark.

Step 1:

Firstly, you need to prepare the sugar syrup of one string consistency. Then take solidified ghee in a bowl and take an ice cube to rub the ghee vigorously till the ghee turns white in colour.

Step 2:

To prepare a ghewar batter, mix milk, flour and one cup water till it gets smooth. Then add food colour in batter and mix more water as required to make a fairly thin consistency.

Step 3:

Take an aluminium or steel cylindrical container of height at least 12″ and diameter of 5-6″. Then apply ghee on it and heat it. After that take 50 ml of batter and pour it in one continuous thread-like stream.

Step 4:

Pour one more glassful in formed hole. When the foam settles again loosen the ghewar with iron skewer inserted in hole then put the ghewar in hot syrup. Don’t forget to drain extra syrup.

Step 5:

Let the ghewar cool and settle down then top it with edible silver foil. Splash few drops of saffron milk and sprinkle some chopped dry fruits with cardamom powder.
