Lemon Rice

Lemon rice is a dish from South Indian cuisine. A proper flavourful rice meal which will take you on a journey of south India.

Ingredients:

2 cups of boiled rice, ½ tsp turmeric, few curry leaves, salt, peanut, mustard, 1 or 2 red chillies, red chilli powder, coriander and lemon juice.

Step - 1:

Take fresh boiled rice or some leftover rice. Heat a pan and add some ghee.

Step - 2

Now add mustard seeds along with the red chillies. Wait till the time they start spluttering.

Step - 3:

Add curry leaves, turmeric and peanuts. Roast it till they get a nice brown colour.

Step - 4:

Add the boiled rice in the pan and reduce the flame. Give them a nice stir and mix the salt to taste.

Step -5

Add the lemon juice in the prepared rice. This is the king of this south indian dish.

Serve Hot

Now chop some coriander leaves and garnish your lemon rice with them. Serve them hot and enjoy the burst of flavours.
