Mayfly

The mayfly is famous for its incredibly short life. As an adult, it lives for just a few hours to a couple of days. Despite its brief lifespan, it plays a crucial role in aquatic ecosystems.

Housefly

Houseflies have a short life cycle of about 15 to 30 days. They go through complete metamorphosis, from egg to larva to adult, quickly making their presence known in homes and outdoors.

Fruit Fly

Fruit flies, or Drosophila, live only 30 to 50 days. Their rapid reproduction and short lifespan make them ideal subjects for genetic research and studies on aging.

Gastrotrich

Gastrotrichs are tiny, microscopic animals with a lifespan of about 3 to 10 days. They thrive in aquatic environments and are known for their impressive regenerative abilities.

Drone Ant

Drone ants, the male ants in a colony, have a short lifespan of about 6 to 8 weeks. Their primary role is to mate with the queen, after which they usually die shortly after their mission.

Sand Flea

Sand fleas, or beach fleas, live for approximately 2 to 3 months. Despite their short lives, they play a significant role in beach ecosystems by feeding on decomposing organic matter.

Parasitic Wasp

Many parasitic wasps have a short lifespan, typically ranging from a few weeks to a couple of months. Their primary goal is to reproduce, often laying eggs inside other insects before they die.
