Step 1

Add desiccated coconut, crushed nuts, and a dash of cardamom for flavor after melting chocolate in a microwave or double boiler.

Mix sugar, rice flour, and a small amount of salt in a bowl. Once the dough is smooth, gradually add warm milk.

Take a tiny bit of dough, roll it into a disc shape, and then press a spoonful of chocolate filling into the center. To seal and form into a modak, pinch the edges together.
