Soak 1 cup poha (avalakki) in water for 10 minutes, then drain and mash it to a soft consistency.
In a large bowl, mix poha, 1 cup rice flour, chopped onions, grated carrots, and green chilies for flavor.
Add finely chopped coriander, curry leaves, and 1 teaspoon cumin seeds. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly for even distribution.
Gradually pour water while mixing to form a soft dough. Ensure the mixture isn’t too dry or too sticky.
Divide the dough into small balls, then flatten each ball into a thin disc using your hands on a plastic sheet.
Heat a tawa, drizzle oil, and carefully transfer the flattened rotti. Cook until both sides turn golden brown.
Serve the Avalakki Akki Rotti hot with coconut chutney or a spicy tomato chutney for a delicious, healthy meal.
