Parmesan Cheese

Grated or shredded parmesan cheese keeps well in the refrigerator for up to a year. Only six months will pass if a block of parmesan is kept unopened in the refrigerator or freezer.

Canned Meat

Canned meat and seafood like tuna or SPAM stays good on the shelf for two to five years.

Dried Fruits

When stored in a sealed container, dried fruits such as apricots, raisins, and prunes will remain at their best for around six months.

Peanut Butter

The contents of an opened jar of the delectable peanut butter should be eaten within two to three months, but an unopened jar can be stored for up to nine months.

Eggs

A carton of eggs has a 45–90 day shelf life when stored correctly. Using the float test is the simplest method to determine whether an egg is still fresh; if it floats to the top of a bowl of room temperature water, you should generally avoid eating it.

Honey

Honey in sealed jars keeps for decades or perhaps millennia. There's a catch, though. Because the sweetener is so prone to physical and chemical changes, the honey may darken, lose its flavour and scent, or crystallise, depending on the temperature at which it is being stored. However, even in that case, the honey is inedible.

Potatoes

Potatoes can survive for several months if properly preserved. To keep raw potatoes from sprouting and becoming green, store them in a cold, dark place. When potatoes are exposed to sunlight, they create a toxin called sloanine, which causes them to turn green.
