Choose dark chocolate

For a more robust and healthful flavor basis, use premium dark chocolate.

Heat milk

Heat milk until it's steaming hot, either on the stove or in a microwave.

Melt chocolate

Stir a few little bits of dark chocolate into the heated milk.

Add sweetener

Use a natural sweetener such as stevia, honey, or maple syrup to make it sweeter.

Stir in spices

Add a dash of nutmeg or cinnamon for taste.

Mix thoroughly

Continue to stir until all of the chocolate has melted and blended.

Serve warm

Transfer into cups, garnish with cocoa powder, and savor.
