Step 1

You'll need sesame seeds (til), jaggery, ghee, and optional ingredients like cardamom or nuts for added flavor and texture.

Step 2

Dry roast the sesame seeds in a pan over medium heat until they turn slightly golden and aromatic. This step enhances their flavor.

Step 3

In a separate pan, heat the jaggery (cut into small pieces) with a little water on low heat until it melts and forms a syrup. Stir occasionally to prevent burning.

Step 4

Once the jaggery has melted, add a teaspoon of ghee to make the mixture smooth and give it a rich flavor. You can also add crushed cardamom at this stage for fragrance.

Step 5

Add the roasted sesame seeds to the melted jaggery mixture and mix thoroughly until the sesame seeds are well coated with jaggery.

Step 6

Allow the mixture to cool slightly, but while it is still warm, grease your palms with ghee and shape the mixture into small, round ladoos. Be careful, as the mixture may still be hot.

Step 7

Place the formed ladoos on a plate and allow them to cool and set. Once they harden, they are ready to enjoy!
