Chili Oil Pasta is a flavorful, quick dish that combines the heat of chili oil with caramelized onions, garlic, and creamy sauce for a deliciously spicy meal.
300g spaghetti, 2 tablespoons olive oil, 2 medium onions (thinly sliced), 2-3 cloves garlic (minced), 1 tablespoon chili oil (adjust to taste), 1/2 cup heavy cream, 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional), Salt (to taste), 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning, Water (for boiling spaghetti)
As the water comes to a boil, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until they soften and turn translucent. Lower the heat and continue stirring until the onions are deeply golden and caramelized, about 10-15 minutes.
Mix in the minced garlic and cook for another 30 seconds until fragrant. Remove the skillet from the heat and stir in the chili oil.
Transfer the cooked spaghetti to the skillet with the caramelized onions and chili oil. Toss everything together to coat the pasta evenly.
Pour in the heavy cream and, if desired, Parmesan cheese. Season with salt and Italian seasoning to taste.
Divide the pasta into portions and serve immediately.
