Tips

When having meals and going on family excursions, turn off all screens. 30 to 60 minutes before bed, turn off screens and take them out of bedrooms.

Until 18 months of age

Limit your screen time to video chat with an adult when you're with them (like a parent who's out of town).

Between 18 and 24 months

The only kind of screen time that should be allowed is when a caregiver watches educational content.

For children 2-5

Don't spend more than an hour on non-educational screens during the week, and three hours on weekends.

For ages 6 and 12

Limit screen-related activities and promote healthy lifestyle choices.

12–15 years old

For the sake of balance, it is advised that people between the ages of 12 and 15 only use screens for 1.5 hours each day.

16 years and older

For people 16 years of age and up, limit screen time to two hours per day to promote balanced and healthful use.
