The mission was launched on July 14, 2023 at 14:35 IST from Sriharikota.
The objective of the mission is to land safely on the moon surface and collect scientific experiments.

The lander was named Vikram whereas the rover was named Pragyan.
The mission had three modules named a propulsion module, a lander module and a rover.
Chandrayaan 3 successfully entered lunar orbit on August 5 and landed on the south pole of the moon on August 23, 2023.
The lander and the rover designed lasted for one lunar day which is equivalent to 14 Earth days.
The point where Chandrayaan 3 landed is called the Shiv Shakti Point.
The mission helped in making software to plan maneuvers for returning to Earth from the Moon.
