It is said that there was a saint named Kalinath and due to his wordings the ritual is going on.
As per believes, Kalinath said that if any of the restaurants sold or baked non-vegetarian food will be destroyed.
In 1956, Amrikh Sukhdev’s father opened a restaurant in Murthal and the other restaurants found selling non-vegetarian food near it were destroyed or closed forever.
