Prayag is the river confluence that is believed to be sacred and of great importance in Hinduism. There are 5 Prayag or ‘Panch Prayag' in the Garhwal Himalayas in the state of Uttarakhand.

Vishnu Prayag

The mighty river Alaknanda also known as 'Vishnu Ganga' blends with the river Dhauliganga that flows from the Niti Valley. The confluence derived its name from the belief that Sage Narad devoted Lord Vishnu here and they appeared.

Nand prayag

Nand Prayag is located in Chamoli district in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is the confluence of the Alaknanda River and Nandakini River. Nandaprayag was once the capital of the Yadu kingdom.

Karn Prayag

Karn Prayag is located in Chamoli District in the state of Uttarakhand, situated at the confluence of the Alaknanda and Pindar River.

Rudra Prayag

Rudra Prayag is the point of confluence of rivers Alaknanda and Mandakini. Kedarnath is located 86 km from Rudraprayag.

Dev Prayag

Devprayag is a town in Tehri Garhwal District in the state of Uttarakhand, and is the final one of the Panch Prayag . It is the confluence where Alaknanda meets the Bhagirathi river and both rivers thereafter flow on as the Ganges river or Ganga.

Prayagraj is the 6th river confluence in the state of Uttar Pradesh, meaning "the king among the five Prayag". It it the meeting point of holy rivers Ganga and Yamuna, and the invisible Sarasvati.
