Methuselah

Located in the White Mountains of California, USA, Methuselah is a Great Basin bristlecone pine (Pinus longaeva) estimated to be around 4,848 years old. It is considered one of the oldest known non-clonal organisms on Earth.

Prometheus

Another Great Basin bristlecone pine, Prometheus was also found in the White Mountains of California. It was estimated to be over 4,900 years old when it was unfortunately cut down in 1964, making it one of the oldest known trees ever.

Old Tjikko

This Norway spruce (Picea abies) is located in Sweden and is estimated to be around 9,550 years old. Old Tjikko's age was determined by analyzing the root system, as the visible part of the tree is relatively young.

Jomon Sugi

Found in Yakushima, Japan, Jomon Sugi is a Cryptomeria tree (Cryptomeria japonica) estimated to be between 2,170 and 7,200 years old. Its exact age is difficult to determine due to the hollow trunk and the fact that it does not produce annual growth rings.

Llangernyw Yew

Situated in Wales, United Kingdom, the Llangernyw Yew (Taxus baccata) is estimated to be over 4,000 years old. It has survived multiple lightning strikes and its hollow trunk has been filled with concrete for support.

The Senator was a bald cypress (Taxodium distichum) located in Florida, USA. It was estimated to be over 3,500 years old when it tragically burned down in 2012.

Found in Abarkuh, Iran, Sarv-e Abarkuh is a cypress tree (Cupressus sempervirens) estimated to be between 4,000 and 5,000 years old. It is considered one of the oldest living organisms in Asia.

Situated in Alerce Costero National Park, Chile, the Alerce Milenario (Fitzroya cupressoides) is estimated to be around 3,640 years old. It is one of the oldest known living trees in South America.
